Push fit fittings are engineered with a ring of metal spurs inside that tightly grip the tube when it is inserted. O-ring (elastomer) seals inside the fittings form a tight, waterproof seal against the tubes external surface.
Push-fit fittings offer a quick and easy way to create a watertight joint for fluid handling systems. The tube is simply pushed into the fitting. As well as offering easy, heat-free connection, push-fit fittings can be demountable, meaning they can be disconnected and reused (but this may impact joint integrity and performance).
Typically, these fittings are manufactured from a range of materials that compliments the tubes that they are being used with.
