The British Metal Tubes & Fittings Association (BMTFA) represents manufacturers of a wide variety of metal tubes in three principal materials – Carbon Steel, Copper and Stainless Steel. This section identifies different grades of material for each variant, its application suitability, and the standards (both current and legacy) that are commonly used or specified in the building services environment. The ultimate aim is to ensure that the correct tube is utilised for the correct application so that longevity of usage is ensured.
